Track Information/Certification Requirements:

The Giordana Velodrome is a 250m track with a 42.5 degree embankment.  Certification on a 250m track or experience on a 250m track is required as a prerequisite to participating in USA Cycling Masters Track National Championships.  This is for your safety and for the safety of your fellow riders.  If you are an experienced track cyclist, but do not have experience on a 250m track, we offer the following to help you prepare for Masters Track Nationals:

1.  The 250m Track Orientation Session:  Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10 am and 1 pm; and on Monday, June 26 at 10 am. These sessions will be limited to those riders who are experienced track riders but who do not have experience on a 250m track. This 1.5 hour session will help you become familiar with the uniqueness of a 250m track.  These sessions are FREE.
Please contact Bob Nixon at 803-326-2453 or email him at Bob.Nixon@cityofrockhill.com if you plan to participate in one of these sessions.

2.  Certification Clinics at the track:  Offered on Saturday, June 10 from 9 AM - 1 PM.  For more information, click here.

3.  Come Ride the Track Prior to Nationals:  If this is your first visit to the Giordana Velodrome, please contact our Cycling Programmer, Bob Nixon, prior to your scheduled visit.  Bob will help you familiarize yourself with the track, our policies, and schedules. Contact Bob Nixon at (803) 326-2453 or email Bob.Nixon@cityofrockhill.com.

Open Track Times (prior to June 26):

There will be Open Track times available prior to Monday, June 26.  Please check the Track Calendar for specific times and dates.  Daily track fee is $5 per rider.  For your first visit to the velodrome prior to June 26, there is a one time $20 processing fee, in addition to riding fees.

On Monday, June 26 (registration and packet pick up), track will be open only for riders competing in Masters Track Nationals from 10 AM - 3 PM and from 5 PM - 8 PM (but closed during the Rider Meeting at 6:15 pm).  Please complete your Packet Pick Up before entering the track for the evening session.  Please be prepared to present your rider number for track access at this time and at any other time during the event.  Also, please plan to attend the Rider Meeting at 6:15 PM.  There is no daily track fee for Monday, June 26.

All riders must complete and sign a Giordana Velodrome waiver before riding at the Giordana Velodrome. To expedite your check in, please print and complete the 2017 Giordana Velodrome waiver.

Infield Access to Set Up:

Load In:  Riders generally access the infield for normal track hours through the stairs or elevator in the velodrome building. In order to expedite set up for morning and evening race sessions, riders will be allowed to unload over the rail on the front stretch or back stretch 30 minutes prior to the Warm Up Sessions.  For the morning sessions:  the load in will take place from 7:00 - 7:30 am.  For the evening sessions:  the load in will take place from 4:00 - 4:30 pm.   After a Warm Up Session begins, a rider may only access the infield via the stairs or elevator.

Infield Access:  Infield access is limited to registered riders displaying their rider numbers and those with infield passes.  Infield passes will be available for sale for $10/person and can be purchased with your online registration or at the front desk of the velodrome after Registration closes on Monday, June 26.  Infield passes are available for persons age 16+.

Infield Tents:

Due to the limited size of the infield, individual "pop up" tents will not be allowed on the infield.  The Giordana Velodrome provides to the riders, free of charge, several large tents on the infield.  Each tent contains rider boxes, each of which can accommodate 2+ riders.  The infield tents can service more than 100+ riders during any race session.  We ask for your cooperation in sharing these rider boxes.  For safety and space reasons, riders will be asked to remove their belongings at the end of each evening session.  The velodrome will not be responsible for lost or stolen items.

Tents cannot be "reserved" or "claimed" prior to 10:00 am on Monday, June 26.  If there are any belongings or items left in the rider boxes as of 10:00 am, they will be collected by staff and placed in the tunnel.  The City will not be responsible for any lost or damaged items.  Also, please share your rider boxes with other riders, especially if you are not racing the following day.

Please plan to bring chairs to use in your rider boxes.  In order to expedite your set up, you may find that a cart is helpful to get your gear and bike into the infield.

There will be a marked area in which riders can set up individual "pop up" tents outside of the infield.  Please do not set up tents in the parking area.

Parking:

There is free parking around the velodrome building and along the side streets near the velodrome. Please be advised that if overflow parking is necessary, there will be a shuttle bus to help facilitate transportation to the track.  If you attended Masters in 2015, please be advised that there are more buildings and apartments near the velodrome.  While there is still ample parking, please allow more time for parking and getting to the infield.

YMCA at the Velodrome:

The YMCA adjacent to the velodrome offers complimentary access to YMCA members from SC, NC, and VA.  Any other guests are welcome to use the YMCA facilities for a $10 daily pass.

RV Parking:

RV Parking is available in the Rock Hill Outdoor Center (near the BMX Track) for $50/day, which includes power and water hookups.  Reservations will be taken for Monday, June 26 through Sunday, July 2.  Check in days are
Monday, June 26 - Friday, June 30 between 9 am and 4 pm at the BMX office.  Staff is NOT on site at
