The 250m world-class Giordana Velodrome is part of the Rock Hill Outdoor Center at Riverwalk. The facility, endorsed by USA Cycling, will host national and UCI caliber events while introducing the local community to the Olympic sport of track cycling through a variety of rider development and outreach programs. Who knows? Cycling’s next generation of Olympic and professional athletes may hail from Rock Hill and surrounding cities.
At the Giordana Velodrome, cyclists can find their home base for training and development. This year-round facility offers programs for cyclists of all stages and ages, providing equipment and instruction. A certification process is required of all cyclists, regardless of cycling ability, before riding on the track. This is important for the safety of all participants. Giordana Velodrome staff reserve the right to require a rider to attend additional sessions before being certified, if considered necessary to gain experience before riding alone on the Velodrome. Staff reserve the right to make certification decisions for each rider on a case by case basis.
The Giordana Velodrome also serves as a gathering place for a variety of non cycling activities and special events. Giordana is the sponsor of the Giordana Velodrome. Carolina Neurosurgery & Spine Associates and Carolinas HealthCare System are Founding Partners of the Giordana Velodrome.
