Northside Recreation Center is the place to be if you want to express your creative side or take an exercise class to stay in shape. The adventurous can even try out the Indoor Climbing Wall on the second Monday night. The center also includes a community room, game room, gym, craft room, and meeting rooms. The center’s community rooms can be reserved for group functions. Upcoming classes, activities and events at Northside Center are included in the Parks, Recreation & Tourism calendar.

Pottery classes are the specialty at Northside Recreation Center with both hand-built and wheel pottery techniques offered. Classes are also available for home-schooled students. Video-led aerobics classes for adults are offered every six weeks with instructor assistance. The center host a Boys & Girls Clubs of York County unit.

The center supervisor coordinates the Rec-in-the Box program offered at various parks during the summer as well as the popular Daddy Daughter Dance held in the spring.

Northside Center includes a 5.5 acre park which features many amenities. The park is the home of one of four public swimming pools which is open during the summer months and offers free swim lessons. The picnic shelters and pool can be reserved to accommodate group functions.

Northside Indoor Climbing Wall

The Climbing Wall at Northside Recreation Center is fun for everyone! Beginners and experienced climbers will find new adventures while they explore the different levels of the Climbing Wall. Over 1000 square feet of vertical surface is available to play on! From easy flat walls to steep negatives and overhangs, there is a rock to challenge every skill level.

Family Climb Nights
The Wall is open and staffed for adults and youth on Family Climb Nights.  The schedule is on the A.L.L. Outdoors Family Page. Equipment and instruction are provided. Climbing instructors encourage climbers to set goals and reach for the top!  You do not have to pre-register. Just come and climb!
