Key elements in the City of Rock Hill's Trails and Greenways Master Plan and the 2020 Comprehensive Plan include well planned trail systems that connect destinations, greenways that preserve open space, and complete streets that are bicycle and pedestrian friendly. The Riverwalk development and the Rock Hill Outdoor Center will set a new standard for the "live, work and play" community by providing residents with a network of trails and well planned streets that connect neighborhoods to schools, parks, retail spaces and the greater Rock Hill community.

The Riverwalk Trail is the most recent addition to the City of Rock Hill's Trails and Greenways system and an important step towards local and regional connectivity. This 2 1/4 mile multi-use trail along the Catawba River will eventually connect to other parts of the Riverwalk development, nearby River Park and the redesigned Hwy. 21 bridge project that will be bike and pedestrian friendly. The Riverwalk Trail is also a key segment of the regional Carolina Thread Trail that will link 15 counties in North and South Carolina connecting over two million people!
