  • The new Airport Overlook was officially opened during the May 13 Airport Commission meeting.  Mr. L. G. Wilson, who led the private effort to sponsor and construct the overlook, was presented a Certificate of Appreciation by Mr. John Roberts, Airport Commission Chairman.  (Note: Mr. Wilson on left/Chairman Roberts on right).  The overlook is located on Bryant Blvd. near Celanese Road.  Come out, park for awhile and enjoy watching the activity at the airport.
  • On October 3, 2009, the Rock Hill-York County Airport/Bryant Field celebrated its 50th Anniversary by hosting an Open House.  An estimated 5,000 men, women and children attended including Dr. H. H. Plemmons, the 1956 Airport Commission Chairman, who located the property for the airport's current location Activities included several aerial demonstrations, a bicycle safety clinic and displays that included planes, classic cars, antique tractors and the South Carolina Aviation Hall of Fame.
 

 

  • Construction has been completed on taxilanes for T-hangers along with an entrance road/taxilane to serve a new corporate complex.  Hangar construction is expected to begin within six months.  Airport Layout
