Vernon Grant Wall of Whimsy

"The Wall of Whimsy" is a tribute to long time Rock Hill resident and artist, Vernon Grant.  Grant is best known for his "Snap" "Crackle" and "Pop" characters.  The Wall of Whimsy features characters created by Grant, displayed near the tiered fountain.  

C. H. “Icky” and Sophie M. Albright Overlook
The family of C. W. “Icky” Albright honored the memory of their father by naming the garden overlook near  Crest Street.

Vernon Grant Performance Stage

Thanks to a gift by the family of Rock Hill resident and artist, Vernon Grant, a brick stage surrounded by beautifully landscaped areas provides a permanent outdoor performing venue for a variety of community events.

South Carolina Bank & Trust of the Piedmont Patio

SCB&T of the Piedmont’s sponsorship of the Bigger House patio provides a wonderful event venue overlooking the Garden while allowing the bank to give back to the local community.

Inis Gillis & A. W. Huckle Tree Restoration Fund

This fund was given by Elizabeth Huckle Rader to further the family’s interest in the environment, specifically, the restoration of trees.  A marker is located near the SCB&T of the Piedmont Patio at the Bigger House to acknowledge this important contribution.

John A. Hardin Greeting Circles

John A. Hardin sponsored these lovely brick planters at the entrance to the Bigger House.  This beautiful outdoor feature is a fitting reflection of the former mayor’s fondness for the Garden and his welcoming spirit.

Veterans Garden
The American Legion Post 34 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2889 have formed a partnership with the City of Rock Hill to create a veterans garden area at Glencairn Garden to honor past, present and future men and women of the armed forces of the United States.

Founders Federal Credit Union Relaxation Garden

Founders Federal Credit Union has sponsored the Relaxation Garden off of Crest Street to be built as part of the Glencairn Garden Master Plan.

Carolina First Bank Entrance
Carolina First Bank has sponsored the Carolina First Bank Entrance to Glencairn Garden.  This is the sweeping grandcase grand entrance off of Crest Street. 

Charlotte Avenue Showcase Garden
A local family has sponsored the showcase garden off of Charlotte Avenue to be built as part of the Glencairn Garden Master Plan.
