Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG)

Post Date:04/13/2026 1:47 PM

The Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) is a direct grant award that provides units of local government with critical funding to support a range of program areas including law enforcement. The City of Rock Hill and the Rock Hill Police Department (RHPD) have been awarded $34,537 for the Fiscal Year 2025 JAG Local Formula Solicitation. This grant does not require matching funds from the RHPD and official approval by the governing body is not necessary.

RHPD’s Chief of Police and Command Staff will use JAG funds for the SWAT Body Armor Project to support their law enforcement program. Specifically, the City of Rock Hill will use JAG Funds to complete the replacement of body armor and associated trauma plates for members of the SWAT Team. These replacements will ensure that all SWAT personnel are equipped with current, serviceable ballistic protection necessary to safely perform their duties during high-risk operations.

The Bureau of Justice Assistance requires that all JAG applications be made available for review and citizens are provided with an opportunity to comment prior to certification submission. To review the application or offer comments please contact CRHgrants@cityofrockhill.com by Monday, April 27th, 2026.
