The Hometown Security Division was created as a branch of City Management in the spring of 2003 as a result of the Ice Storm that affected the area during the winter of 2002.

The Office was created to develop coordinating efforts between City resources and the York County Office of Emergency Management for incidents and events that affect the public safety of Rock Hill citizens.

It is important to be informed about potential emergency situations, including power outages and natural and man-made disasters. During an event, pay attention to local media broadcasts and follow instructions regarding evacuation and sheltering in order to ensure your safety.
