Apply

  • Positions are organized in alphabetical order by job title. 
  • Apply online using a computer, smart phone or tablet.
  • Click on the job title to be taken to the description page.
  • From here, input your information in the “Apply Now” section, then click “Start Application.”
  • Applications not completed in entirety will be rejected after system generated email notifications.

Interview

  • Human Resources staff work with hiring managers to review applications and choose candidates to be selected for interviews.Not all applicants are chosen for interviews.
  • HR will contact candidates to schedule an interview time. Interviews typically include a representative from HR, the hiring manager, and can include City staff with input in the hiring process.
  • If for some reason you can't make the scheduled time or change your mind about your interest in the position, please contact Human Resources prior to the set time.
  • For some positions, especially Police and Fire, additional assessments may be required.

Conditional Offer

  • HR will contact the person who is chosen to make a conditional offer.
  • If accepted, a drug test is scheduled and background check completed at this stage.

Final Offer and Start Date

  • Once favorable results are back from the drug test and background check, HR will contact the candidate to determine start date and send an official offer letter.
  • New employees start on orientation days, which are held every other Monday.
  • During orientation, you'll
    • choose your benefits
    • establish pay direct deposit
    • learn about the organization
    • participate in computer training

Candidates who were not chosen for the position will receive an email notification that the position has been filled.
