 A certification process is required of all cyclists, regardless of cycling ability, before riding on the track. This is important for the safety of all participants.

NOTE: Riders visiting from another velodrome, please see the information at the bottom of this page.

These mandatory courses are designed for the cyclist who has solid bike handling skills, who has experience riding
 with clipless pedals, and who is in good physical condition. The course will consist of a classroom session
 to learn about track cycling, equipment, track etiquette, etc, and an "On the Track" session.  

Riders will be on the track for several hours during the duration of the course.  All riders must use track specific bikes. 
Loaner track bikes are available for use and included in the cost. 

Own your own Track Bike?  If you have your own track bike you are welcome to use it, but staff must approve the track bike prior to using it on the track. Bottom brackets must be at least 11.25 inches from the ground to the center of the bottom bracket spindle and crank arms no longer than 170mm.

What to Bring:  A rider needs to bring his/her pedals and cycling shoes, a properly fitted bicycle helmet, a full cycling kit (including cycling gloves) suitable for the day's weather conditions, water bottles, and food or drink for the day.
In your registration, please indicate whether you will need a rental bike (included in course fee) and the desired size.

Velodrome staff/instructors reserve the right to require a rider to attend additional sessions before granting a rider certification, if considered necessary to gain experience before riding alone on the Velodrome.
Staff reserve the right to make certification eligibility for each rider on a case by case basis.

A minimum of 5 registered riders is required to schedule a private certification clinic.
