About the Trail
The Piedmont Medical Center Trail is a linear 3.35 mile paved, multi-use trail along the Catawba River offering a shaded walk among the trees with breathtaking river views. The 10 ft. wide trail spans Riverwalk at its northern end to River Park at its southern end. The trail features flat areas as well as uphill and downhill stretches with steep grades. Restrooms are located at the parking lots at Riverwalk and River Park. The trail is located in a flood plain and is subject to flooding. Use caution during and after periods of heavy precipitation.
The Riverwalk portion of the trail provides access to several miles of mountain bike trails with varying levels of difficulty. A canoe/kayak launch is located near the trailhead in Riverwalk.
