Program OverviewThe Rock Hill Parks, Recreation and Tourism (PRT) Department strives to offer quality programs that emphasize participation, skill development, sportsmanship, and fun in a wholesome, supportive environment. To support these initiatives, parents and/or legal guardians are required to sign a Parents Cold of Ethics. Additionally, PRT is dedicated to providing a safe environment for program participants. Spring registration usually begins mid-January and fall registration in July. Shortly before registration begins, a Registration Brochure is posted to this page with program details. Each program has a fee that covers some uniform pieces (sport-dependent), officials’ fees and a mandatory sports insurance policy which remains in effect for all city-sponsored athletic activities for the calendar year.
Registration is available on-line, in person, or by mail during the registration period. First time participants must show a birth certificate at registration (in person or by mail). Once the date of birth is in our system, any registration method can be used for any sport.
Registration in person is taken during office hours at: Manchester Meadows, Cherry Park (softball tower), the PRT office (Room 390) in City Hall, or at our recreation centers. To register by mail, follow the directions in the registration brochure to mail your completed form, fee and copy of birth certificate, if needed, to our office. On-line registration will not be available until Jan. 13.
For some sports and age groups, a skills evaluation is held to assist staff in creating balanced teams within the divisions. During skills evaluation, players will run through a series of basic drills to allow staff to assess their experience level. These dates will be provided in the registration brochure.
Once teams are assigned, coaches will contact their players with practice information. During the season, team photos will be scheduled and a jamboree may be held with teams playing “mini games” against each other.
Season and game schedules are posted to the Sports League Schedule webpage when they become available.
Weather Cancellation Policy
Decisions to cancel practices or games will be based on current and future weather and/or field conditions. These decisions are typically made mid-afternoon and cancellations are posted on the PRT Weather Line. However, a coach may decide to cancel a practice due to weather independently of PRT. If this is the case, the coach will contact players to let them know.

PRT may place a player(s) on a different team provided the following: The player’s school does not field enough players for a team. The player’s school/team has already reached the maximum roster limit of 25 players.
After registering with PRT, parents should contact the coach to find out the practice schedule for their team. PRT can provide parents with contact information for the team coach. Only registered participants will be permitted to practice.
School Enrollment Declaration
For PRT’s football program, all parents and/or legal guardians will be required to sign a School Enrollment Declaration to verify what school his or her child attends. Falsifying enrollment information will result in forfeiture of all games, elimination from playoff participation and/or coach suspension. No child may compete/participate in any games until his or her parent has completed the School Enrollment Declaration.
