Applicants can appeal code interpretations or methods of construction for any of the building codes as well as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, gas and fire codes to the Construction Board of Appeals. The Board meets when an appeal is filed, generally within 45 days.
ProcessComplete the Appeal from Building and Other Construction Codes Request form and return it to the Permit Application Center (PAC) with the required attachments. A meeting of the Board will be scheduled as soon as possible. You or your representative will need to attend the Board meeting and explain the grounds for your appeal and answer questions.
