In most cases, the paving of a driveway, patio or parking lot does not require a building permit. When the work does not require a building permit, the Driveway, Patio or Paving Application is required so that we can review the proposed paving area for compliance with applicable stormwater and zoning standards. This application is required for both commercial and resicential paving or driveways, parking lots, patios, and similar projects.
Please note that depending on the scope of the work, amount of impervious area to be added, or if a change in existing draining patterns is proposed, a civil construction plan and land disturbance permit may be required.
Submit your Driveway, Patio or Paving Application and associated documents, such as a sketch plan, in PDF format, to the Permit Application Center (PAC) at email@example.com or the online services website at cityofrockhill.com/onlineservices. The PAC will route your application to the appropriate departments for review. When the review is complete, you should receive an email with an approval letter or further instructions.
