Zoning Verification Letters & Record Requests
Any person may request the following types of information from the City.
Zoning Verification Letters
Anyone may request a written verification of compliance with zoning and building code regulations, commonly called a "zoning verification letter." To request a zoning verification letter, complete the Zoning and Building Code Compliance Verification Request and submit it to Janice Miller in the Planning and Development Department. The cost of this letter is $25. We strive to respond to these requests within three business days. If you need copies of records in addition to the zoning verification letter (Certificates of Occupancy, permits, plans, etc.), please use the process explained below.
Record Requests
All public documents are available to the public through South Carolina's Freedom of Information Act (FOIA). If you need Planning and Development records such as Certificates of Occupancy, permits, or plans, please complete the FOIA Request Form and submit to foia@cityofrockhill.com so that all departments involved will be promptly notified. A fee may be charged to cover research time and copies. Please see the FOIA fee schedule for more information. We will respond to these requests within 15 business days.
To request copies of public records from other City departments, please see the City's Freedom of Information Act page.
