The Zoning Board of Appeals holds public hearings for requests involving
Special Exceptions to the Zoning Ordinance, variances from the Zoning Ordinance,
and upon rare occasion, appeals from staff interpretations of the Zoning
Ordinance regarding requirements unrelated to historic preservation.
The next scheduled public hearing of the Zoning Board of Appeals will take
place on Tuesday, January 15, at 6:00 pm in City Council Chambers at City
Johnston Street). In the event the meeting is to be re-scheduled, the
hearing will take place on Tuesday, January 22, and notice of such will be
posted at City Hall.
The Zoning Board of Appeals will consider the following requests:

Request: Special exception for large-size religious use. The property is currently zoned Single-Family Residential-4 (SF-4) and is under consideration by City Council to be rezoned to Single-Family Residential-5 (SF-5).
Applicant: Jerry Anderson and Bennett James, Rock Hill Elks Lodge 1318
Address: 535 Hollis Lakes Road
Request: Special exception for fraternal lodge and event center use and request to reduce required separation. The property is currently zoned Neighborhood Office (NO) and is under consideration by City Council to be rezoned to Office and Institutional (OI).
