The City of Rock Hill (“City”) will not attempt to collect personal and confidential information about you when you visit City websites unless you choose to provide that information to us voluntarily. The City does not intentionally give, share, sell, or transfer any personal information to a third party, unless we are legally required to do so. The City may analyze user traffic patterns on our websites from information that is automatically provided to us by your browser when you visit our site. This information includes the IP address of your computer or network, the date, time, and page you visited on our site, your browser and operating system, and the referring page (the last web page you visited before clicking on a link to our site). The City may use the aggregated information from all of our visitors to measure server performance and improve the content of our site. The City may also track the keywords that are entered into our search engine service to measure interest in specific topics, but the City will not attempt to track which terms a particular user may enter.

The City sometimes makes available or presents web, phone or third-party software services or applications which may enhance the customer experience. The City does not recommend, mandate or force the user to accept, load or participate in using these tools; however, if the user chooses to load or utilize any of these tools, by doing so, the user is acknowledging they have read and fully understood these conditions and does so freely upon their own choosing and accord, and agrees to accept full responsibility of their choice, and accepts full responsibility for any perceived misuse of their data or personal information, tracking, damages or loss the use of these tools may cause them, and as such fully hold the City of Rock Hill harmless without liability.

The user also acknowledges that use of any web services, apps or artificial intelligence (AI) cyber tools not directly owned and operated by the City are subject to any applicable End User Licensing Agreement (EULA) conditions and that such matters may not reflect the same conditions and constraints as related City policies or procedures. It is highly recommended the user fully read and understand what rights, conditions and property they are surrendering when using these tools, before accepting their use. The City intends to protect its citizens and customers but cannot provide any guarantee or safeguard for a user when they load or consume any third-party service or tool, not owed directly by the City, and does hereby inform and advise the consumer to use such services and tools at their own risk.

The City uses linking and searching capabilities to navigate publicly available information from many websites that are not part of our websites. The privacy policies and procedures described here may not apply to those external sites. We suggest contacting those sites directly if you want information on their data collection and distribution policies.
